這次夏季大更新最令人興奮地就是導入了Cortana語音助理，Cortana語音助理比起以前XBOX360時期語音還要更容易辨識，對於英文發音也不苛求，除了能夠使用Kinect2.0來語音控制外，還支援一般麥克風來進行語音操作。
要注意的是，Cortana語音操作系統必須要在地區為 美國 或 英國 且語言為英文才能使用，使用前必須先開啟Cortana的app，以下是部分支援的語音列表範例：
