最近幾年遊戲業界似乎吹起一股懷舊的復古風，SEGA 也搭上這波風潮，於推特上宣布將在 PC / PS4 / Xbox 平台推出 SEGA 遊戲主機 Mega Drive 的經典名作合輯《SEGA Mega Drive 經典合輯》。
《SEGA Mega Drive 經典合輯》PS4 / Xbox 版預定將於 5 月 29 日發售，合輯將包含 50 款經典遊戲、而且還有「自拍模式」、「倒帶回顧」等功能。
SEGA 以前也曾在 2009 年於 PS3 / Xbox 360 平台發售過類似的合輯（在更之前的 2006 年也有在 PSP / PS2 平台發售過）。2009 年發售的合輯收錄包含《金斧戰士》系列、《海豚大冒險》等 48 款 Mega Drive 的代表名作，這次發售的經典合輯收錄遊戲詳細如下：
